Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Oct 21
The 2017 Barolo is a very pretty, gracious Barolo that will drink well upon release. Aromatic and lifted, but with plenty of structure beneath, the 2017 is a great introduction to the estate's wines. Dried herbs, sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, mint and pine lend quite a bit of aromatic nuance to this expressive, mid-weight Barolo from Conterno. Terrific.

Barolo Vineyard Fine Wine

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
